Instrument cluster — connector pinout (BD98)
The instrument cluster (IP) connects to the car through a single 32-way connector, BD98 (blue socket, instrument-panel harness). Despite 32 cavities, only six are wired — the cluster is a CAN device, so almost everything it shows arrives over the Infotainment CAN; the rest of the connection is just power, ignition and ground, plus one hard-wired brake-fluid input.

Pinout
| Pin | Wire colour | Function |
|---|---|---|
| 32 | W/B | +12 V power supply (battery) |
| 31 | G/L | IGN (ignition / wake) |
| 30 | B | Ground |
| 29 | V/O | Infotainment CAN-L |
| 28 | V/W | Infotainment CAN-H |
| 25 | L | Brake-fluid level signal |
| 1–24, 26, 27 | – | not fitted |
Notes
- The cluster reads speed, gear, state-of-charge, drive mode and the warning-lamp requests off the
- *Infotainment CAN** (pins 28/29). It cannot be driven directly by the head unit.
- The connector has a separate ignition line (pin 31) alongside the battery feed (pin 32) — the usual way a cluster tells “battery present” from “ignition on”. When powered on the bench the module is active on CAN (it transmits and answers diagnostics); the exact power-vs-ignition display behaviour has not been measured on this unit.
- A separate connector, BD93, carries a single USB line (to the head unit); it is not on BD98.
- There is no UART / serial console on the vehicle harness — a console needs the board in hand.
